A blend of Scotland and Scandinavia
Looking for a home away from home? At Ross House, guests are welcomed with genuine warmth and a relaxed, homely atmosphere. This thoughtfully curated haven has been shaped by design enthusiast and entrepreneur Peter Erlandsson. He leaves nothing to chance! Every element has been selected by him and his team, often after lengthy reflection, to ensure it feels considered and enduring.
Selected pieces of furniture by iconic Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, and Børge Mogensen are combined with Scottish antiques, throws, and other details to create a seamless blend of Scottish and Scandinavian design. Many of the rugs and carpets are sourced from Kasthall, the renowned Swedish manufacturer founded in 1889, whose uncompromising quality and use of premium natural materials such as wool and linen complement the character of Ross House’s interiors.
The apartments
Choose from seventeen apartments in different sizes, each combining Scandinavian simplicity with Scottish character. Classic Danish furniture, oak floors, and woollen rugs create calm, comfortable interiors, while locally crafted details add a distinctly Scottish flavour. The result is a unique style that blends functionality, warmth, and contemporary design.
Nine of the apartments are located within the original manor building, while the Steading houses five apartments of around 90m² (970ft²), and the Warehouse provides three further apartments of around 80m² (860ft²).

The spa
To truly unwind, immerse yourself in a Japanese spa experience. Step into the quiet warmth of a steam room or timber-lined sauna, then transition to a spacious jacuzzi, before settling into a relaxation space with comfortable loungers.

The founder and proprietor
Peter Erlandsson, the Swedish born entrepreneur behind Ross House, has been a member of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club since 1989. Now, he is combining his passion for golf with his love of design to create a place that feels both stylish and relaxed. With a sharp eye for detail, he’s shaped every corner of Ross House to make it as welcoming as it is beautiful.
Always thinking about how people live, move and unwind, Peter’s design sensibility runs through everything — from the Scottish-Scandinavian inspired interiors to the laid-back, social spaces where guests can truly switch off and enjoy themselves.
